★★★★★★★★★★ The quality replacement we neededLots of research brought me to this product. We didn't find the size we needed in the local big box stores and appreciated that this vendor lets you choose the length and width you need.It was going to replace a patio covering that had been up for 10 years, and there are so many choices on Amazon now. The previous one had lasted till the dastardly squirrels chewed it up and it flapped in the wind. (We caught all the squirrels - 124 so far - and sent them on vacation to a nearby lake, but that's another story for another time.) (By the way, we wondered in hindsight if we should have applied for a federal grant to study their relocation. Something like "100+ squirrels are artificially inseminated into a new forest - here's how their first 30 days went".) (We hoped they enjoyed re-finding each other.) (Also, that forest/lake is full of pecan trees where the pecans fall and go to waste. We don't have pecan or nut trees. We only have a tattered green patio cover. So we really did them a huge favor.)Right. So we definitely needed great quality. While we've only had this one up ~1 month, it did last through an extreme wind storm of 60-70mph straight line gusts. Good start.The 95% ended up being the right option for us. It takes the beating off the patio furniture and plants, while still providing plenty of light. Don't misunderstand the 95% as that is % of UV rays, not % of light. We chose dark green, which puts off a more 'tree shade' type of toned-down light than the brown or tan.We couldn't decide if we wanted to pierce it with screws or nails, since the weave/grid is fairly tight and we didn't know if that would cause it to tear in the wind. We ended up screwing 1x2's in 8' length across each end, and the middle. Hope that system works.We've had a soft and a hard rain since it was installed. Water came through in both, which is great, we wanted the patio plants to get rain water. We mainly wanted the break from the hot summer sun.The price is very reasonable compared to other Amazon shade cloth offerings while still allowing you to choose your size.
