During that time, we lost 2 of 3 fish, and all tadpoles. This cover helps in 2 ways. It provides shade over half the pond, to help reduce the intense heat we have seen the last couple summers. It also provides a block from birds and other predators that were responsible for taking 2 of our fish. We now also have a lot of plant cover growing on the surface of the pond. All put together, we feel confident in the safety of the fish moving forward. We were lucky enough to suddenly have 3 minos born from the fish before the other 2 disappeared. We now have 1 adult and 3 babies.
