It's not waterproof but you could sit under it during a light drizzle. ( I had a waterproof version before this and didn't like how rain water constantly pooled in it) The fabric and grommets are durable. Much better than the version that clips at four corners. I also like that I can adjust it like a shade at either end. Well worth the price!
